We are planning a trip to Raccoon Holler Campground near West Jefferson, NC tomorrow. We will be coming from the east on Hwy 441 to Hwy 16. We know 441 is no problem with height clearance but we've never been up Hwy 16. Our fifth wheel is 13'6. Does anyone have any knowledge of this route or is there a better one we should take? Thanks!

The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is aware that some residents and businesses have had issues with Highway 16, which connects the towns of Salisbury and Wilson in northeastern North Carolina. NCDOT has received complaints about potholes, bumps in the roadway, debris on the highway, and lack of access to businesses due to construction. In addition, NCDOT has noted an increase in traffic congestion on Highway 16 during peak hours.
