I'm looking for places to camp in Omaha as we will be there the 3rd weekend in June for a baseball tournament. The city-owned campgrounds (Cunningham Lake and NP Dodge) sound nice but since they are first-come, first-served I hesitate to use those as my only options. The West Omaha KOA is too far from the baseball fields, which are in NW Omaha.

Does anyone know anything about a place called "New City Campground". Does any have any recommendations for camping in Omaha?

    THANKS!

Cunningham Lake is a nice recreation area with lakeside sites and close proximity to the interstate, yet still in a 'country' setting. It would also be a good location for activities in the Northwest corner of Omaha. I don't think there is much else aside from those that you already found. The majority will be on the far perimeter of the city or west toward Lincoln which will be VERY far from your activities. There is also a Walmart a few miles from there, but I'm not sure if it's 'RV friendly' :p . I'm not familiar with New City Campground, so I looked it up. It's listed on south 84th, which is more Central Omaha and would probably be more of a drive for you. It's also a more urban area. Sorry, although I live in the area, I haven't done much camping here. I hope this was helpful.

There is an Iowa State Park at Lake Manawa that is easy to access from Omaha. There is a park in Bellevue just south of Omaha. The Bluffs Casino has an RV Park.
