We can't seem to find a RV park open for the season in March? We left ME yesterday and we're currently in E Lyme, CT. Leaving here soon to head to PA. The campgrounds we called there have not returned our calls so they may be closed? We're heading to FL, but have never done this trip in March before and never will again. If anyone can recommend places to stay along our trip south that are open we'd sure appreciate hearing where they are?
Thank you, who knows we may end up at a pet friendly motel from here?

Which routes are you traveling through PA on? We stayed at the Jonestown KOA just off I81 a little north of Harrisburg and not far from the I78 junction in January on our way to FL. Open year round with full hook ups.

Most campgrounds around here don't open officially until May, right around Memorial Day weekend.

If you are in East Lyme you are probably going to be out of Connecticut (or might be already) so I can't think of anything to help.

I did a search on both Yahoo and Google for "campgrounds open all year" followed by the name of a state and got several hits. I don't know if they will be on your route or if you have already looked at them but maybe this will help.

Round Top campground in Gettysburg is open all year. It's right off US15 south of Harrisburg PA, so it's easy to figure into a trip south. I'm pretty sure the KOA just south of Richmond on I-95 is also open and from there going south many places are open year round.

Thanks very much, fortunately we found a couple and we're now heading to Walterboro, NC to stay at a place called Green Acres.

Thanks Dutch, I didn't know anyone even replied to my post until today so we're all set now. Brand new to this site so still have much learning to do.

We stayed there a few years ago and really liked it. It was a bit on the rustic side, but the sites were huge and everything worked well.

It sounds like your trip is going better now.

In case anyone looks for Green Acres, it is in Walterboro, SC....not NC.

You're right. It is in SC, but this is still the place we stayed.
