We are going out west for the first time to Yosemite in a 33 foot motorhome. We don't have a car, do we need to rent a car? Also, which campgrounds do you recommend for those that don't have a car? I heard about shuttles, but I don't know where they go exactly.

There is a good shuttle system all around the Yosemite Valley. This means you have to be in the valley or get to the valley to use the shuttle though. Camping sites are VERY hard to get in the valley starting as soon as school gets out. You need reservations. Some campgrounds outside the valley likely have shuttles in. If possible stay in the valley. It is very very busy in the summer. Last time we went was the beginning of May. It was perfect. Weather was perfect for hiking and there were no crowds.
