Hi Guys & Gals - Sat down last night and was going to post a couple of reviews from our recent trip. Finished the first one and checked it over to make sure I had dotted every "I" and crossed every "t" and then hit the large green "SUBMIT REVIEW" button at the bottom of the review page. It came back within a second or two to my review so I thought I had missed doing something. Checked it all over and hit the button a second time but the same thing happened. Did this about 6 times until I decided to just wait till this morning and let you folks know what was happening. Am I doing something wrong or is there a problem with this section of the forum? When I've done a review in the past and hit the button it brings up a page thanking me for my review and letting me know that it will be posted asap after it has been approved, etc. I will wait to re-do it again and not do my other on until I have heard from you as to what the problem might be. Thanks for checking into this.................... Best regards, BankShot
I'm sorry you had trouble with our new site. Most reviews seem to go through just fine, but some don't, and we are trying to find out why. You can help with that by telling us what device you are using to access our website along with the operating system and browser and their versions. This would be helpful to us in identifying any compatibility problems that may be causing this. Also try submitting your review again. We have reports that reviews didn't get submitted, and a day or so later they were accepted with no trouble, and again we don't know why. Thank you for your help, and I apologize for the inconvenience this is causing you.
Hey there Texasrvers - Thanks for the response. I tried again and this time it went thru so will go ahead and do my other one. I use the latest edition of Firefox and Win 8.1 if this helps you in finding out what might be going on, etc................ Regards, Bankshot
What can I say; sometimes this system just hiccups, and we don't know why. Glad you got your review to go through, and thanks for the info about how you access the system. We are still trying to find a connection that may be causing the trouble.
The updated format for RV Park Reviews surely seem to have some growing pains. Upon entering Beaver Falls, PA in Search, I get No Campgrounds Found with an alternative list of Suggested Cities in AL, AK and AZ, e.g. Spanish Fort, AL; Denali National Park, AK; and Apache Junction, AZ. Upon going to Pennsylvania and finding and clicking on Beaver Falls, it says there are two RV parks in Beaver Falls, one of which is “Meziadin Lake Provincial Park, Beaver Falls, PA.” The link to any reviews is non-functional, and in looking up this park elsewhere, I find that this park is actually in British Columbia, Canada!
Actually if you put Meziadin Lake Provincial Park in the Search bar the system tells you that it is in Beaver Falls, BC Canada but it won't give you the reviews for it anyway. Thanks for bringing this mess to our attention. None of us admins have the required site access to fix anything this confused. We'll have to refer it to the Development Team.
Hi, I am having the same problem as others regarding posting my review. I did everything it asks and it keeps returning to "submit review" Also I posted a review back in August for the Colorado River Oasis and it still shows that it is pending a review. Can you tell me what is going on with my reviews. Love the site and use it all the time to plan our cross country trip and use the reviews religiously but, would like to help others. I use the latest edition of Firefox and Win 7 Thanks.
From what I see, your review in August was the first you had submitted. It has been approved but the site's rules require that you have two submitted reviews before any of your reviews are posted. We're sorry you're having trouble submitting your next review; I assume the problem will resolve itself and once it has been approved both of them will be posted.
I have actually submitted several.. Antelope Valley Fair Grounds, Lancaster CA, Fort Beal park in Kingman AZ, and Meteor Crater, Winslow AZ., Glencoe Camp Sturgis SD, and today at the Point of Rocks in Prescott AZ How many do I need. I use this site religiously on our 2012 cross country trip and for our 2015 cross country trip. I would like to submit reviews this year since this site has been a huge help. I can never tell if my review goes through because it just stays on the same page not letting me know if it was submitted.I am using FireFox. I have gotten in the habit of copying all my reviews text so I can just paste it when it fails to be submitted the first, second, third time before giving up and going elsewhere like trip advisor who actually let me know I am alive and heard.
we are in the same boat it would seem... they need a "review approved" message and approve the reviews you have made months ago.
If a review is successfully submitted, you should get a screen that thanks you for sending in a review. Technically your review is not approved at the time; it has only been submitted.
I encountered the same problem today. I hit the "Submit" button, and the screen simply refreshes. I tried it in two browsers before I gave up. Later in the day, I tried again and it successfully submitted the review. BTW, the text that I posted in the review was copy/pasted from Notepad, both when it worked and when it didn't.
I have had the same issue, got caught up in Step 4 and the page simply refreshes when you submit it. I made sure every form field was filled out properly, even contacted you guys by email a few times. Went back a month later and tried a combination of things with the review itself, maybe it was too long, maybe this, maybe that... the page kept refreshing. I FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT!! For whatever reason, we are not allowed to create paragraphs in our reviews. If you hit the "Enter" key to create any spaces in lines, this causes the page to refresh when you hit submit. You must write the entire (albeit lengthy) review in one paragraph without spacing down. Then the site will accept it! Hope this solves it for everyone else too.
You may be onto something and, if you are, we will love you forever!. Did you try creating a new paragraph without a blank line between it and the preceding one? I'm pretty sure I just processed a review that was like that and, in fact, when I approved it I put blank lines between the paragraphs so they were easier to read. Note added: I tried reproducing this and was unable to. I wrote reviews with lots of extra spaces and line feeds and all I got was an error message telling me that the system had reduced excess spaces, etc. I couldn't duplicate what you reported.
I will try to post a new review of the park I'm at currently (checking out in 2 days anyway) and will let you know if I have trouble submitting again if I create paragraphs.
