Hello to Everyone, Ive been reading the Forums and I am sure someone out here can help me. I am renting a 24 Ft RV in San Francisco. We want to go from San Francisco to Los Angeles through the coast and come back to San Francisco through Yosemite Park. I am doing the trip in 10 days, and would like to stay in Santa Cruz for 2 or 3 days. What other places do you recommend to visit? and specially what RV parks do you recommend on this route? Thanks a lot for our help.
Wow!! So much to see. So much to do and you only have ten days and three already spoken for. The trip from SF down the coast is amazing! Hmmm, highlights only: San Francisco : Alcatraz https://www.nps.gov/alca/index.htm The Monterey Aquarium. www.montereybayaquarium.org. Pismo Beach https://www.pismobeach.org/ The LA area has so much to see. You might want to rent a small car for LA. Traffic and parking can be a challenge even in just a 24 foot rig. Disneyland Universal Studios Hollywood Walk of Fame http://www.walkoffame.com/ Venice Beach http://www.venicebeach.com/ On your way to Yosemite check out Sequoia https://www.nationalparks.org/explo...MI_5X5hIjf2wIVwcDACh0lEA3aEAAYASAAEgJXJ_D_BwE And you will need at least a couple of days in Yosemite. I know you will enjoy your trip. The California Coast has always been a favorite of ours. Darrell and Jerry
Hi and welcome to the forum. Rollin Owens outlined many of the most popular attractions to visit on your upcoming trip and his advice on renting/using a smaller vehicle while in the general LA area is recommended by this RVer also. As to driving on Hwy One down the coast in any RV just take it easy and slow and pay attention to oncoming traffic as there are many very tight turns with little clearance on either side of the road. Watch out for other RVs and large logging trucks that can take up part of your side of the road especially in those tight narrow turns. Have a great trip and be sure to post reviews of where you park the RV for the night, etc. Travel safe, BankShot..............(aka Terry
If you are interested in the San Fransisco area, we just visited Alkatraz, Muir Woods NP, and pier 39 three months ago. All very cool sites to see but it will take you all day, and you will need to leave your RV behind. Reservations in advance to these locations are a must. If you have any questions about this area, feel free to ask here or PM me. --chris g.
We have made that trip many times and twice with an RV. First time was an accident when Google took me across the GG Bridge then through downtown SF with a travel trailer in the heat of a Saturday night! Anyway, Big Sur is a must stop! We were blessed with the opportunity to camp near their at Kirk Creek (see my avatar). Hurst Castle is really fun also. There is Solvang and Los olivos if you like wine tasting. There are also a couple of missions on the way; Santa Ines and Santa Barbara.
