Map changes today

You may notice some changes to the way the maps looks today. A recent change to googles mapping application has caused some substantial issues for site users and so we have changed up the maps to adapt.

The maps should work the same way they always have but icon looks a little different. Thanks in advance for your patience as we make tweaks.

 

How are the app issues coming along, Janet?

 

We're still working on this and know it's an enormous inconvenience for folks. Todays change to the maps on the web view is part of the multi-step process to get the apps updated.

oh god please no!!! I've been in the middle of mapping out an upcoming trip to NE and then all of a sudden everything changed to Apple Maps, which are unquestionably terrible to work with! uhg!!
EVERYTHING I do is in Google / Google maps!

so far, I've noted:

• no ability to pop-out or go to full screen
• clicking a campground link no longer opens in a new tab automatically
• can't use mouse wheel to zoom

Currently the maps on each park page are google maps

 

That wasn't true a couple of hours ago. Some of the maps were definitely Apple and they were awful. As of 5:30 pm CDT the maps all appear to be Google again.

 

Yes - we have switched back... still fiddling with this... there are likely to be more changes.

 

Where is the map when searching that shows location of CGs in a certain area?

You will need to use the full web version of the site to see the map. If you are browsing on a tablet be sure to turn it sideways

 

No maps at all on the iPhone app or on the web site using a Safari. Not even specific site maps. Please fix it soon or this site is finished. RV Parky has theirs working just fine so I'm gone to there for now.

Any updates on when the icons on the maps will become functional again?

 

I don't own a smart phone, so I can't address the app map issue. However, I use Chrome on a laptop & maps are displaying fine. I see Apple maps if I click on a state or city & I see Google maps if I'm on the park's listing page.

Can you try another browser?

If I use Firefox the Apple maps that appear on the city pages do not work correctly. They do appear to work OK with Chrome.

What have you done?! I need full-screen maps, on Google!! The best part of the site is now...gone.

 

Once you go to a park page you should see a link on the map to "view larger map" Have you tried this?
