Hey Jason - Where you be? Been looking for more of those wonderful pictures from your trips you have shown us all in the past. Don't tell me you've gone on an extended walkabout ,taken crook while doing so and thus ended up sucking on some old Bundy jug to try and get better. Is the trip to the states still in the works and if so is it all coming together as planned? Come on, jump in and give us old inquiring minds something to go on, it's lonely here without your pictures and your effortless Aussie slang......... All the best to you mate, Terry..............(aka BankShot)
He last checked in about two weeks ago. I too miss his posts and pics. I hope everything is okay Jason. Darrell
Hmm, musta missed his post. Well at least we know he's still alive and hasn't been trampled by some angry wombat while out on walkabout in the outback, with his napsack on his back and his didgeridoo slung over his shoulder................ Come on Jason, let's hear some down under news from you when you can pull yourself away from all your doings................. PS: Like your hew "handle" there Darrell. Wot hoppen to BC Wanderer.......??? Did they finally let you escape the confines of BC......... Terry.............(aka BankShot)
You didn't miss a post from Jason. He just checked in. I don't know if he actually did anything other than log on. New user name is a result of a life style change. The missus and I are now homeless and unemployed. Watch for me at major intersections begging for change. Okay, I have finally retired. We sold the stick and brick because I didn't want to rent it out and we don't know how long we will be on the road. Since I no longer have a residence in BC it just didn't seem right to have that as part of our moniker. We settled on "Rollin" 'cause that's what we are doing and Ollen is part of our surname. Darrell PS: We wish everyone a Merry Christmas (I am not, nor will I be politically correct) and a happy and prosperous New Year!!!
Right back attcha Darrell. I don't believe in all this political correctness crap either and to me it will always be Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year.................... Terry.....................(aka BankShot)
Hey Jason - - -!!! If you don't respond to this thread shortly we are going to have to send out a pack of Dingoes to hunt you down....... Scottsdale area...visit Lost Dutchman State Park and the Superstition Mountains for some mild hiking and maybe pan for some gold. Tucson. Old Tucson is a must if you are a fan of Western Movies and close by is the Arizona Wildlife Museum (Kinda like a small zoo but displaying only (live) desert animals in natural settings. Darrell and Jerry
Hey Jason thats some intinuary you have, hope the weather is great and you have a safe trip. Don't forget to post a few piks! Have a couple of Sedona Beers for me! Mike
Hi Jason - Glad to hear the trip is really on and going to happen for you. Your itinerary is definitely going to keep you moving and not going to allow any moss to be growing under your rear end. Here's a couple of suggestions you might want to include if you can squeeze them into that busy schedule........... Williams, AZ - Do try to drive that few additional miles and take a peek at Meteor Crater. You will never see another one like it, period. Well worth seeing. Tucson, AZ - As Darrell...(aka Rollin Ollens) suggested, a stop at the Old Tucson Movie Studios would be well worth considering. Overall you most certainly have a well planned trip ahead and about the only other thing I would suggest is that you extend it another couple of weeks and take in all the things that some of us have suggested that you won't be able to see if you only stay three weeks. Also, one more suggestion if I may. While in So. California as well as in Arizona and Nevada, you owe it to yourself and family to drive into an IN-N-OUT Burger and sink your Aussie teeth into one of these single, double, triple or even a quad burgers. Even tho only a west coast area family owned chain they are consistently voted as the best fast food burger in the country. Warning, you will want to try smuggling a few home with you if you do, only your customs agents would confiscate them and the eat them after you've passed thru....... Have safe and most enjoyable trip and as Mike....(aka mdcamping) mentioned, do post some pics when you get back, we all enjoy them a lot............ Regards, Terry...........(aka BankShot)
Agree with Meteor Crater - and remember, Winslow, Arizona is right there ("standin' on the corner in Winslow, Arizona . . .") so stop by for a photo. AND definitely agree that In-N-Out is a must stop. The burgers are wonderful and the shakes are great - the fries . . . well, they're good but won't probably be the best ever. (One woman's opinion!) Anyway - You have a great trip planned. Do let us know how it's going!!
Just Sorry I cant get to that part of California to catch up mate....next time I promise and we will make it a get together with a few of the other blokes like @Rollin Ollens @mdcamping @Onemoretrail @NYDutch
