Happy Labor Day weekend to everyone. Hope anyone who is "out & about" in their RV is well and traveling safely. We be sticking near the old homestead over the weekend, mainly due to all the fires and heavy smoke around the area we live in. All the state and national parks are closed as is a lot of area around Lake Tahoe. We did check out a few RV parks for a possible short trip just to get away but all were either booked solid or under smoke themselves, so here we be looking out at "the beast" with no place to go. Next trip will be in mid October and we are really looking forward to it. COVID and the fires have made for too long a time not out on the open road. So with that said, I once again wish everyone a healthy and safe long weekend. Somehow the morning Bloody Marys, the afternoon Margaritas, and the evening glass of wine just aren't going to taste as good as they would were we sitting out at one of our ocean getaways. But hey, all three are still going to be enjoyed as best we can under the current circumstances that prevail.........INDEED!!!.......:D

Thanks, Terry. We are in the same situation as you here in British Columbia. Too many fires and Covid. Surrounding parks are open, but booked up a long time ago. So it is home for me and the DW heating up the BBQ and saying hello to Mary and Margarita. Enjoy your Labour Day weekend.

We, too, are staring at our motorhome sitting in its home port. And right now we have no plans for a trip even later. One of our favorite places to go, the Gulf Coast--Biloxi in particular, just got washed and blown away--AGAIN, (those poor people!) so they will need some time to recover before we head that way again. We need to fold the country in half so that the hurricanes on the east side lap over the fires on the west side and put them out.

We are home too, for different reasons. We are drafting in our frends and family fantaay football league tonight, and tomorrow we are having a party at a local park to celebrate our 30th anniversary. We'll probably try to go camping at the end of Sept. And then take our yearly thanksgiving trip to Texas and Ollahoma. Looking forward to both.

We arrived at our site at Robert Moses State Park in upstate NY on the shore of the St Lawrence Seaway last Monday. Tuesday morning we received a phone call from one of our daughters that our other daughter had arrived home from work Monday evening to find her fiance dead on the floor. The cause turned out to be a brain aneurysm. We quickly packed up and canceled the rest of our stay to head for our southern Adirondack cottage site to be with our daughter and support her. We'll probably head out again in a few weeks to another NY state park that we haven't been to before.

Thanks for all the kind words, folks. Our family is working our way through our loss, and as much as we know we'll never forget, we also know life has to go on. We won't get over it, but we will get past it...

We have been sidelined in our travels for a bit. I awoke a week ago with a collapsed lung. On the mend now but life will be a lot slower in the near future. We are in Fort Langley B.C. at present so out of the heat and smoke and into the fine weather. Life is still good! :)

Do the doctors know what the cause was Darrell? Get back to full health soon. Does your "co-pilot" drive the motorhome at times like this or will you be sidelined a while? Thankfully you are where the weather is good right now so just take it easy and get back to 100%.........

    Regards, Terry

No known cause yet. Because of COVID, respiratory specialists appear rather busy. Jerry has driven the motorhome on occasion but she scares hell out of me as she tends to hug the ditch. :) I am expecting a 100% recovery but no flying and no going over high mountain passes for a couple of months so we are stuck in the Lower Mainland. This area is like home so it's not a hardship. Thank you all for your concern.
