I created a formula to calculate the maximum rate for one night and before I send it to DC for legislation, I like to share it with you all … The formula: PpN = BR + E + W + S + PT + RS + L + P + HT + Wi + DR - DtHI – DtTH PpN = Price per night BR = Basic Rate = $ 40 E = Electricity = $ 4 W = Water = $ 4 S = Sewer = $ 4 PT = Pull Through = $ 1 RS = Restrooms/Showers = $ 1 L = Laundry = $ 2 P = Pool = $ 2 HT = Hot Tub = $ 3 Wi = Wi-Fi = $ 2 DR = Dog Run = $ 1 DtHI = Distance to Highway/Interstate (for every foot closer than 3000 ft, a penalty of $0.01) DtTH = Distance to audible Train Horn (for every foot closer than 3000 ft, a penalty of $0.02) Examples: All the amenities, no disturbing noise: PpN = 40 + 4+ 4+ 4 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 2 + 3 + 2 + 1 = $ 64 Full Hookup, Pull Through, Restrooms/Showers, Wi-Fi PpN = 40 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 1 + 1 + 2 = $ 56 Electricity, Water, Restroom/Showers, Wi-Fi, Interstate at 1000 ft PpN = 40 + 4 + 4 + 1 + 2 – 20 = $ 31 Full Hookup, Restroom/Showers, Pool, Train Horn at 2000 ft PpN = 40 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 1 + 2 – 20 = $ 35 Furthermore, if the Price-per-Night drops below the Basic Rate, the RV park is NOT entitled to carry the word ‘Resort’ in its name. Any thoughts?
its a fun tool to play with, and i might actually print it out, and see how different parks fair. here are some things you might be missing: - Proximity to popular attraction (within 10 miles): +40 - You have wifi at +$2.00, but there are different qualities of wifi: free good quality wifi, free slow wifi, paid ok wifi, wifi only available at clubhouse. -Extra activities not listed (mini golf, tennis, pickleball, shuffleboard, playground, fishing, etc. $1 each)
On second thought I should have changed the value of Wi-Fi in a penalty of $10 when there is no good working Wi-Fi in a park! I just posted this because I find it annoying that every park calls itself 'Resort' nowadays, even the ("easy access") KOA journeys next to an interstate exit. Unbelievable. I don't have a hearing aid ... yet. Maybe I need one after staying too long at an easy access park, ha ha. Safe travels!
Do I understand correctly you want the government involved in private enterprise pricing and business naming? No free enterprise? No competitive pricing?
Sure has that implication, we decide if a parks rates are too high, by not going. I don't need anyone to make up my mind for me. If i like the place I might return, if we don't we will never go back, pretty simple rule for us.
Really guys? Not every thing in life is serious. Some posts are meant to make you laugh! Safe travels! @NYDutch: grappig toch?
In today's highly charged political atmosphere, it's difficult to find humor in anything suggesting government interference. Misschien wordt het na een tijdje grappiger.
Ditto to what weighit and Dutch said. "WE THE CUSTOMER" are quite capable of deciding if we want to stay at. or return to, a park or campground that we feel is ripping us off, etc, Sorry Bluesbirdy I didn't take your post as being a joke either, and I really enjoy a good joke...
