If I click "Submit a Speed Test" on a particular campground's page, the speed test function should either assume I want to submit a speed test for the campground, or ask me if the detected location is different from where I want to submit the test for.

For instance, I'm using the wifi here, which is Comcast:
    https://campgrounds.rvlife.com/regions/tennessee/sevierville/honeysuckle-meadows-rv-park-13171#/

But all the results are being donated here, which has TERRIBLE Wifi:
    https://campgrounds.rvlife.com/regions/tennessee/pigeon-forge/pine-mountain-rv-park-9016#/

It's not a really fair system considering HMRVP has spent thousands to have the best guest wifi in the region.

I had a similar situation; we camped at a familiar campground and could not report the WiFi speed. Spoke with this site's admin and she explained why a campground might show a different location than the actual location where it is. I didn't understand. It has to do with some system they have and was told it might help to go to the location of the campground's entrance and try to get a speed test but not wishing to drag my trailer out of its spot, decided to just try and include it in my review. This is a frustrating issue.

The Speed Test should allow you to select your carrier and to select the campground that you are running the test at. Why wouldn't RV Life want to have accurate data if they are going to the trouble to collect it?

Recently joined and tried to run a speed test while at a campground using Starlink without success. it kept saying I wasn't near any campground. Apparently RVlife is using IP address info to determine your location, in which case every Starlink user will appear to be in Hawthorne California where Starlink is based.

I was planning on becoming a paying member, and contributing to the Internet info, but it seems that the Internet info on the app is probably inaccurate and that was a big part of why I was interested in the app. Sadly, I am going to hang back and wait to see if they address this deficiency before becoming a paying member.

LOL. My speed test in the website hasn't worked since we left Banff last October.. CR still thinks I am in Banff, even though I am in Virginia. Its been spotty like that for years now and have requested they add an override. All I keep hearing is they are going to make changes to the speed test function. I believe the first time I had an issue was in 2020 where it kept thinking I was in the middle of the Columbia River not in a campground right next to it. So no speed test could be run, or post for that campground anyway. But now its not allowed a speed test for 10 months. It never had been broken for more than a few days prior to Banff. My guess is they will never fix it. Like a other things that have broken recently than still are not working right. (Share to Visitor) -Bill
