Hi fellow RV'ers; I'm planning a trip from NC to the west coast (Oregon/Washington) in Aug/Sept. I definately want to go to Glacier for some hiking. Do you have any recommendations on the most ideal RV spos in that area? I have a 22' TT towed by an F150. I dont necessarily need to be in an RV park within the national park but would like to know about options in that area. I do want to drive the Going To The Sun road. I'm thinking of joining Harvest Host, is that a wize option? I'd like water and electric hookups and a dump station is fine. Please share your thoughts! Fred
The Campground nearest the Going to the Sun EAST ENTRANCE is the National Park Campground. I suggest that you book as early as you can as this is a very popular place. All of the campgrounds near St Mary fill quickly https://glaciertourbase.com/travel-...g-you-need-to-know-to-access-going-to-the-sun You will also note that there are vehicle restrictions. Towing your trailer, you will have to skirt Glacier using highway 2 to continue your journey to the coast. Another very scenic road is highway 20 that you will pick up at Omak. Safe Travels Darrell
You will need to get a reservation entrance permit to drive the Going to the Sun. Recreation.gov has the details and the online application. Otherwise you need to be at the gate at dark thirty on the morning. Be aware Logan pass parking lot is always full. East entrance area is remote. Most people stay at the Weat side.
went there in september 2023. stayed at johnson's campground on east side.we drove the going to the sun road than after that parked at east entrance and took the free shuttle bus didn't have to worry about parking and got to enjoy views more
