Hello! We are heading to the region late June and will be staying at Kring State Park! I'm in the middle of planning and I find it's easy to find out information on the major attractions in the area but what we also like to do is to find the hidden gems, the out of the way things to see and do in the area! Any recommendations on towns to explore, antique shops to visit, sites to see etc.? We've been known to travel up to 2 hours away from our hub so anything you can think of would be great! Thank you in advance!!

    Welcome to the forum!

Not sure if you have passports, but in Gananoque, ON is the Purple House Cafe, awsome food! Gananoque is a charming town to walk through. lots of shops, festivals/farmers markets

Bolt Castle on heart Island is a must and can accessed on both sides.

We stayed on the canadian side but maybe look for Kayak rentals as you can tour all the little Islands your self and if your not up to that I believe there should be boat tours that do the same thing.
(we did both on the canadian side)

    Have fun!

I would include the boat house tour along with your tour at Bolt Castle. Loads of reconditioned boats/motors/equipment dating back to 1900's. The Castle grounds has picnic tables about so best to pack a lunch vs buying their overpriced food.

Just an observation, the island tours don't get you inbetween the very scenic small Islands that a kayak can. So this all boils down to your expectations.

Best to get in early at the Purple House Cafe as there is always a long waiting line outside the building
