Hey everyone, We're 1st time RVers and desperately need advice on roads to travel, campgrounds and things to see & do in NYC, Boston, Cape Cod & right up the coast into Canada. We are traveling with 3 boys and have another family of 5 traveling alongside. The husbands were supposed to make all the plans, but... We are leaving in 5 days and any info would be welcome, and may save our hubbies lives as well! Thanks in advance, Tricia Barrie, Ontario
Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor Maine is beautiful. You will find many different campground reviews here: https://www.campgroundreviews.com/regions/Maine/Bar_Harbor.html Whale watching, Sail boating, bicycling are just a few of the things we did. Cape Cod is also nice, Martha's Vineyard is a short ferry ride away. We stayed at the Cape Cod Campresort - it has a pool and was very clean. http://www.capecampresort.com/ We didn't spend a lot of time in Boston, except to go to the Cheers restaurant. Plymouth, Mass. with the Pilgrim Village and Plymouth Rock is interesting. I know you will get a lot more suggestions as soon as others get on.

I have never been to that "neck of the woods" so can't offer advice on rv parks, etc. Just wanted to say that I hope you have a wonderful trip. We will be leaving tomorrow on a 16-17 day trip and I am really looking forward to getting away.

Anyone else with any ideas on where to stay, what to see and do, from New York City, Boston, Cape Cod, and straight up the eastern coast into Canada? You said you have 3 boys but not their ages, so this is pretty generic: Make sure you have handheld games, travel size board games, cards, etc, if you have a TV and VCR in your vehicle even better. Take along a small cooler inside the vehicle if you have room for drinks and small snacks. You can have them play the license plate game where they try to find different states. Boston & NYC are tough to drive a motorhome through (depending on size), hopefully you have a tow so that you can park & go. Cape Cod is nice & has a nice campground discussed below. There are no campgrounds in the city of Boston. Nearby there is Normandy Farms in Foxsboro, kind of pricey but nice. Crystal Springs Campground in Bolton, about 30 miles west of the city. OK. Has a pool, sites are rustic. Just a piece of advice...patience!!! We got trapped by honking motorists on the George Washington Bridge in NYC & Bostonians can make 2 or 3 lanes out of 1. Don't be surprised to see someone driving up on your right side. Good luck to you! And have fun!
