Does Suburban make a Hi-temp cutoff that is lower than the one on the water heater? Water is way too hot and I want too lower it a bit when using electric heat. Jim
It appears they make replacement thermostats in varying temperature settings, 120, 130 or 140 degrees. If yours is broken or failed it is possible for the temps to go zero cold or scalding hot.
Hot water temps should not run above 120 degrees after that there's a risk of scalding. Hi limits are a safety to shut off the heat source if the thermostat fails. maybe use a meat thermometer on one of the faucets see what the actual water temp is... if it's well above 120 degrees I would consider replacing the thermostat. Good luck, Mike
