As 1st time RVers (just bought a 31 ft Class C Motorhome) can anyone advise us on camping in Arkansas? We love Hot Springs and are planning a Fall Break trip (I'm a teacher). Any suggestions for newbies?

We love White River - Bull Shoals State Park which is part of the Arkansas State Park System. We also love Dam Quarry on the Norfork River and JFK on the Little Red River at Heber Springs. Both of these parks are Corp of Engineer Parks. All three are great!!

Thanks for the info. Have you ever stayed at Green Country in Lowell near Beaver Lake?

    ladydi,

No, we have never stayed in the Beaver Lake area.

If you stay there, let us know how it is and what kind of activities are nearby. My husband and I both trout fish and I have heard both good and bad about the Beaver Lake tailwaters.

    Thanks, Tissy

It's been almost 10 years but we enjoyed Lake DeGray State Park. As I remember the campground was out on a peninsula with sites on the water.

It's beautiful in north Arkansas around the Mountain Home area. Several lakes and state parks in that area. Denton Ferry RV park in Cotter is very nice. Right on the Buffalo River, and about ten miles from Mountain Home.
