Does anyone know about the availability of Fla. campgrounds in the winter? We were thinking of heading there in Feb. and staying a total of a month or so. We'd like to bop around different places and maybe stay at each one about 4 days to see the area then move on. I guess we couldn't do reservations ahead of time cause we don't know what's down there. Appreciate any help at all on where to stay and what to do. Thanks ahead of time.

 Feb in Florida is a tough month to find vacancies in campgrounds. You do not indicate whether you are looking to find places in state parks or private c/gs. Private c/g's are pretty much booked up for Jan & Feb, Feb being the busiest. You might find you would have more luck booking a month at one place and using it for a travel base. This would depend on whether you have a toad or not. Suggest starting by checking availability at inland c/g's away from the coast and heavy traffic resort areas. There are a number of large and very nice c/g's in the Arcadia area and again around Sebring and Lake Okeechobee. Good luck in your quest, we have all had to go through this.
