Hello, looking to find a campground in the warmer parts of Alabama, Mississippi, or Florida that has good WIFI access. I work remotely and will need a good connection for work. I have come across a few places that have ok WIFI here up north. I was thinking of heading to some place with warmer temperatures for a little while. The only requirements are allows dogs (70lbs) and not having to wear my winter coat. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Welcome aboard JustRoses. Been watching the weather reports, nasty storm heading for the eastern portion of the US. You are welcome over here (southern California), but am hopeful one of our Alabama, Mississippi, or Florida travelers will catch your post in time to get you out of the deep freeze! FYI: doesn't matter how big the dog, kind and friendly will win out every day!
Yesterday we left the Jacksonville North/St. Mary's KOA in Kingsland, GA, a mile north of the FL border after a 4 day stay. Their WiFi was pretty good, but a bit slow in the evening when the park filled up. I've seen some pretty large dogs there, so I don't think there's any size restrictions. They have a pretty good sized off-leash dog area as well.
Well, if you like fishing - we just left the A+ RV Park and Motel (I know - it sounds totally cheesy, but even this SoCal girl liked the place) in Sulphur, Louisiana. They even have a pond stocked with catfish and bass, and really good to terrific wi-fi. We are now in the gulf coast, in Biloxi, Mississippi as I write this - another great wi-fi at Cajun RV Park. We're right across the highway from the beach, too. Just FYI - Sulphur, LA is 20 miles over the border from Texas off I-10 and about 10 miles west of Lake Charles, LA. The price we paid was $35/night for A+, but it's higher here in Biloxi - more like $45 - both reflect good sam discounts. Obviously longer-term rates are cheaper on a per-night basis. It's more charming here in Biloxi - and we're about 4-5 miles from the big casinos here - Beau Rivage and the Hard Rock, both fun places, but if I were working, I might prefer less distraction that the more low-key park in Louisiana would offer. Although if you really like casinos, Lake Charles has a few, too. Kindof a thing around these parts, I guess. We're headed to Tallahassee in a couple of days after the thunderstorms run through here and then on to The Villages in central Florida, south of Ocala, so hopefully our luck will hold on the wi-fi. We're both writers and need to publish, so connectivity is important to us, too, even though we are, technically, retired. Good luck! Post where you end up.
