We've got to be in Louisville, KY for about 2 months. Anybody been through there and recommend a campground? All I've seen is negative reviews and there may be some little gem somebody may know of. Thanks y'all! Jeri
There actually aren't any RV parks in Louisville on the Ky. side of the river, city zoning issues. There are two KOA's nearby, one to the south and one in Indiana just across the bridge in Jeffersonville, I think it called. We have stayed a couple times at the one just across the bridge. It's just so convenient but it has tightly packed spaces. We know someone who spends a couple months there each year for medical reasons and he told us they tried to expand so that they could have better spacing but the city council won't change the zoning around them to do it. The owners make up for it by keeping everything immaculate and neatly maintained. They added free WIFI last year. For convenience they earn a good grade from us and we will use them whenever we pass through Louisville. It is one of only a couple KOA's that we will patronize because the owners work so hard to earn your business.
The KOA is actually in Clarksville (900 Marriott Dr,Clarksville, IN 47129, Tel: (812) 282-4474). The sites are a little tight and it fills up on the weekends, but it is so convenient to downtown that it was worth it. The park was spotless and every one was very helpful. We will stay here again when we are in the area.
We don't usually stay at KOA's but this one is quite nice and very convenient. Nice people and free wi-fi. Louisville Metro KOA, Clarksville, IN
