hello, my family and i will be taking a vacation to gatlinburg/pigeon forge at the end of june. we are looking for a campground that has big sites to accomodate a 38' motorhome without being crowded. i have 2 kids ages 9 & 13. we also would like to be on a stream or river and not in a campground that is overcrowded. any suggestions? i read a good bit of reviews on tremont? what about yogi bear, or koa, or the outdoor resort?

sorihard> The four parks that I’ve used on multiple trips to the area are: Outdoor Resorts – Gatlinburg: Most sites around a man-made lake are back-ins and shaded. They have a huge pool that the kids would enjoy. Nice golf course next to it. Everything is paved. It’s about a 15-minute drive on the non-tourist end of town. http://www.outdoor-resorts.com/gatlinburg/ River Plantation – Pigeon Forge: Pull thru sites except along the river. Gravel road and gravel pads, but all are level. Partially shaded. Two pools. Near all attractions. http://www.riverplantationrv.com/ Riverside RV Park – Seiverville: Mostly back-ins. CG is along a river, but most sites aren’t. Stay away from the new area. Mostly open area.. Gravel roads and pads. Level. It’s off I-40 so the drive to Gatlinburg and PG will be about 30 minutes without the tourist traffic. There’s a minor league baseball team with very nice stadium located in the town. http://www.riversidecamp.com Twin Creek RV Resort – Gatlinburg: Probably the nicest and most expensive of the group. Lotsa of amenities. Rated highly by Woodall’s and Good Sam. http://www.twincreekrvresort.com/ All will accommodate a large rig nicely. Of the four, I prefer Outdoor Resorts due to it's location away from the more populated areas. No disrespect, but I got a chuckle out of the "overcrowded" comment. You are going to a very popular resort area in June. Expect crowded. Lotsa attractions as you probably know, but don’t miss the Aquarium. The kids will enjoy it. Use the trolley when you can. Traffic is always heavy. Rick
