We are working on a trip to florida for next month -february. we would like to have input on places to stay in or near the florida keys. plan to stay about a week, thanks boater
Boater: The good news is that there are a few good RV parks in the keys. The very best is Bluewater Key RV Resort in Key West, but it is pricey. Bahia Honda State Park on Big Pine Key is probably the best reasonably priced park in the keys. Others that are acceptable, in my opinion, are the KOA on Sugarloaf Key, and the Encore Park on Sunshine Key. There are many others that are, to put it charitably, total dumps. Read the revews on this site. The bad news is that you have about as much chance of finding a spot in the Florida Keys in February as you do of finding a pickled pigs feet stand in Beverly Hills. Good luck. You might run across a cancellation, but it will be difficult.
Bahia Honda is great. It is a FL State Park. Very economical price and private area. Several flat larger sites but the best are the small tent sites at the beach. Good luck getting something in Febraury. We spent a week there in October 05 in our pop-up and had booked the site in January! GoPopUp

I believe you can take them in for day use. If you travel with pets, check with the campground before planning your stay there.
