Has anyone stayed at this campground in the UP of Michigan? I just made reservations for a one week stay in late July and wondered if anybody was familiar with it.

    Thanks!

We drove through it when we were up there visiting Mackinaw. We did not stay there, but I was not impressed. What type place are you looking for and I can tell you if it might fit the bill. We travel in a large motorhome and what might fit us great might not be to someone else's liking  . We stayed at Mill Creek at Mackinaw.

We have stayed at Mill Creek before and thought we'd try something different this time. We travel in an older 25' MH and like to cook over an open campfire, etc. We like electricity, but all other hook-ups are not important to us. We like to have trees and privacy.

What did you not like about Castle Rock campground?

    Thanks for replying! :)

If you can do without a sewer hook up, Straits State Park has a very nice cg with good sites. It's just east of the bridge as you exit the ramp into St Ignace.

We just spent the holiday (July4th) weekend at Castle Rock. We (2 adults and 2 13yrs old) had a great time. The showers could use better drains but they and the bathrooms were thoroughly cleaned daily. It was truly peaceful and everyone was friendly. Very laid back and the sites were real private, gorgeous views of Lake Huron from our site. They have volleyball and a little playground area. Their game room was ideal for parents a few video games and a couple of pool tables, so you didn't go broke giving quarters all night. We really enjoyed the simplicity of it all and will go back. Oh yeah they also have a dog walk for those that own dogs. And we couldn't of been any closer to the casino!!!
