:( We are planning to visit Helen, GA in September. Have made ressies at Cherokee Campground near Helen, GA. Would like any comments. Any suggestions for other campgrounds in the Helen area? We have 38' with 2 expando-s. In other words, need and like lots of room. Thanks ahead of time.
    Happy Campin'

We just left Cherokee CG in Helen, GA. There are full timers there but nice people and mix well with the MH travelers. The ownere (Phil) is real nice and very helpful. Pet's are OK. One key point is there is cable tv and full hook-ups as well as several pull-thru's and very important....your celular phone works. The interior roads are paved but, that is about all they have....only 10 minutes from down town Helen and tube rides. We will go back in our 40' class A MH.

Okay, so I answer my own question about Cherokee Campground in Helen, GA. The CG is good for being so close to Helen downtown. Pull thrus and 50 amps for big rigs. Cable TV and clear skyview for DirectTV. Fulltimers were very friendly. We went to the night time singing at the pavallion and felt welcomed. 4 legged members of the family are very welcomed. The management could do better with keeping reservation records but he was very nice and helpful. CG was on high ground during the rain and winds from Hurricane Francis. Good cell reception. We met other RVers and enjoyed the weekend. Have ressies again in October for OctoberFest.
    See ya on the road!
