Joe: There are several reviews on this campground on this site, and I would suggest you review them. From a personal experience, we found this campround to be excellent, with good paved, level sites, and all the amenities. Only problem we noted is that the staff, almost all teenagers, did not speak English too well and communications was sometimes difficult.

To get there from Rock Hill, take I-77 south to SC9. Take SC9 to I-85 south and stay on I-85 south for a short distance until you come to I-26 West. Stay on I-26 West until you come to I-40 West. Then take I-40 West to Highway 74 west near Clyde. Go a short distance on Highway 74, to the Waynesville area, and take Highway 19 west. You will, after a few miles come to a shopping center and, at that center, turn right on Acquoni Road. This will take you to the KOA. This route will provide you with good highways all the way and avoid the hairpin turns and curves other routes suffer. Have a good trip.

Joe> I've RV'd in that area of the country many times. I agree with Beastdriver's route suggestion. Maggie Valley and Waynesville are close to each other. If you want to stop in either town, Maggie has some great restaurants and Waynesville has some neat shops in the downtown area. Maggie is easy to navigate in an RV, but you need to find a large parking lot in Waynesville and walk 4-5 blocks to the shops.
