we are going to go to chester frost park in hixson, tennessee and was wondering about it how the park is. my husband's family is having a reunion there and we are taking our travel trailer with us.
We lived about 2 miles from Chester Frost for 4 years. Lots of Chattanoogans camp there simply because it is a nice place to go. It is not as nice as Harrison Bay State Park, which is about 25 minutes away, but it is still an excellent park. It is right on the TN river, has great fishing, and playgrounds. We used to take our kids there to ride their bikes, etc. A lot of locals use the beach, but we didn't like that part of the park which is actually outside the camping area. Chattanooga is a wonderful city with tons to do, so I hope you have a great vacation. One word of caution.......Hixson Pike near Gold Point is undergoing major road work. Avoid arriving anytime between 4 and 6:30 pm or you will sit in traffic for a very long time.
