Hi I have seen this topic come up several time in another forum and thought I'd pass it on here

    dorr@cookcountygov.com

Here is the e-mail address for the Cook County Commissioner. It seems that legislation is being considered to ban RV parking on residential property county wide. This would include any kind of campers, boats, snowmobiles AND commercial vehicles.

Please e-mail above and express your dissatisfaction. Pass this along to family and friends and ask them to contact their representatives and/or send an e-mail to above.

COOK COUNTY, Ill. -- Cook County Commissioner Joan Patricia Murphy invites Cook County residents to attend a public hearing to discuss amendments of zoning ordinances regarding residential parking of commercial and recreational vehicles.
Conducted by the Cook County Zoning and Building Committee, the hearing takes place Sept. 8 at 10 a.m. in the board room, Room 569, at the County Building located at 118 North Clark Street in Chicago.
The first item to be considered is in regard to the parking of recreational vehicles, RVs on residential properties, (RVs refer to all RVs, boats, trailers, snowmobiles, etc.) and the second to the parking of commercial vehicles on residential properties.
The amendments can be viewed or downloaded at www.cookctyclerk.com under the post board agenda for July 21, 2009. To view the complete agenda, visit boardmeetings.cookctyclerk.com.
The public may testify at this meeting. Persons wishing to testify should call the board secretary at (312) 603-6127 for further details and instructions. Commissioner Joan Patricia Murphy encourages all residents to attend to voice their opinions and concerns.

If you happen to be a member of Good Sam, contact them and in particular, their parking rights group. This is the kind of issue that they work on.

Even if your not a Good Sam member go to the Web site and get in touch with them. They have been very successful in defeating these crazy proposed ordinances thru out the country.
