I know I could have relayed this information to the Admins via the "contact us" feature but I decided to post instead. Among other things, readers will be reminded to check to see if the park they are reviewing is already listed.

The AVI Casino RV park is listed twice under Laughlin, NV. One loists it AVI and one adds KOA to the name. These seperate listings are for the same park.

The Swinging Bridge RV park in Mississippi is listed under both Jackson and Byram. You will notice that the number of sites are close and the phone number is the same. Byram is the proper city for the park to be listed under.

I noticed these duplications because these parks were recently reviewed and I have been to them in the past. I tend to check reviews of parks I have been to.

Additionally, I question whether or not the recently posted 1 or 2 star review of AVI should have been approved. Last year I had a review rejected because the "checker" felt I did not say enough about the RV park. This AVI review complains about the park being 15 miles south of Laughlin (somebody did not do their research) and talks about how small the casino is. Except for location, there is nothing in the review about the RV park. So this park (that get lots of good reviews) is given a lousy review because the reviewer didn't do research to find out where it was and the the casino is small. There was not a word about the park's facilities, conditions in the park, the reviewers experience in the park, etc..

    I'm Baaaaaaack!

I found another duplicate listing of a park I've been to in the past and recently drove by on my way to and from the Grand Canyon last month. Both listings for the park are under Canute, OK with the exact same park name (Elk City/Clinton KOA).

There was a recent review of this park that gave it a 2 and I checked out the review and then the reviewer's other reviews. Turns out that the same reviewer reviewed the park earlier in 2010 and gave it an 8. The bad review complained mainly the everything about the park being too small for his "big" rig. There was no mention of staying at the park the prior year and liking it. I just found this situation curious.

Thanks for putting all the reviews for the Elk City/Clinton KOA in Canute, OK under one listing.

Now, I would like the admins to look at the previous post (dated 11/9) in this thread. After the short comment, there are 2 what look like advertisement websites listed. Isn't that a "no-no" on this site.

Thanks, Jerry. You are absolutely correct, and as you can see the post has been removed. The weird thing is I am 99.9% sure those advertisements were not with the comments when the message was first posted. I remember looking at it, and thinking that the comments were a little strange, but I did not see the links. I think they were added later. Either way they are taken care of now. Thanks again for letting us know.

Well, if you are looking into things, there are double entries for Lake in Wood Campground in PA. One shows it in Bowmansville and the other shows it in Narvon. I do think the mailing address is Narvon.

    Best Regards,
    Norm

Thanks for letting us know. This is the type of listing that drives us nuts. The address of the park is definitely listed as being in Narvon. This is not just a mailing address; the park actually sits at this address. However, this puts it just outside Bowmansville (3 mi) which is closer than Navron (7mi). Therefore, it looks like the address should be in Bowmansville, but it is not. We now have it listed under Narvon. Thanks again.

Back again. I think I found another duplicate listing: Circusland RV Park and Las Vegas/Circus Circus KOA in Las Vegas, NV. I think that when KOA took Circusland over a year or so ago, somebody started an new lising as the KOA and people started to submitt reviews under both headings.

I sometimes feel the same way especially when I'm planning my trips. You look for a campground in a geographical location, but a reviewer incorrectly has used a mailing address that was printed on a flyer, campground map, or another handout. It happens more often with campgrounds that are in sparsely poplulated areas where the nearest post office is in a seperate town. State parks, USFS, COE, are bad about putting headquarters/office addresses on their handouts that don't coincide with their physical location.

I have found that the website admin section is really good about making the change if you just email them, but reviewers should help by researching for the correct information.
