Howdy folks, I have liked this site, and this is my first post.

We are going to have a couple of days in Estes park, on September 13-16 roughly.

Here is what we are looking for. We have a 45 foot rig, and no toad. There are nine of us that travel. Does anybody have any suggestions on which park is best?

I have looked at the reviews. So far it looks likeElk park is the best. KOA didn't have spots to accommodate us, or their people per site was too low. Not to mention Elk park wanted about 5 dollars extra per head over the first two. Do you think that we should call them. We are not a rowdy group of rockstars or something. We are very respectful, and quiet family. Do you think that we should call KOA and see if they would make an exception or something?

Thanks a lot for your help.

    God bless,

    John

For what it's worth Spruce Lake RV Park can accomodate big rigs. We have never had to deal with the cost of extra campers, but the last time we were checking in there in 2008 the front desk people offered to waive the extra person charges for another family that was checking in.

Elk park We have reservations here. We will see if they will waive the fee for us.

I think that same people own these guys, as Spruce Lake.

    Thanks a lot.

    God bless,

    John

    John,

You need to realize that the extra person charge has to do mainly with the additional cost to the park for extra guests. It has little, if anything, to do with being rowdy. The most obvious is water. Whether you use the park's bathrooms or your RV, 9 people just taking a daily shower is a lot of water.

    Jerry,

I never doubted that there was a good reason. There is always a good reason for everything. However, I also happen to know that it doesn't cost 5 a head extra for water.

    God bless,

    John
