Anyone that has used a cell phone antenna booster (external passive repeater) and can furnish information as to performance will be appreciated Bussey
We have been using Prime Cellular equipment for years now and it works very well. This can take you from no sig. to full ant. if you are in the right places. Some places like NV have no people or cell towers out in the desert. You need one amp, one outside ant. and small cable that will hookup to your cell phone. You also need the correct part for the cell phone you have or change over to cell phone that will work. Read all information on web site and then call 800 number and talk to people who run this place. We have been very happy with our system. http://www.primecellular.com/ or call 800-713-3001
We have Verizon phones and bought the Wilson antenna. That by itself will help a lot with a low signal. We also purchased the Wilson power booster that runs off of 110. With both the antenna and booster, we almost always have at least 3 bars even with no bars showing without the system. If we are getting 1 or 2 without, we will have 4 or 5 with. Since we travel so much, we find there are many place in the US that has NO phone service at all, or very weak service. The system for us was worth the money.
Weighit: Would like to ask, if you don't mind, where the Wilson antenna and booster were purchased, and could we have a ballpark cost figure ??? Is the antenna internal or external in relation to its' position as used with the Rv ??? thanks,
We bought the antenna from a Flying J, and mounted it on top of the ladder mounted on the rear of the trailer, ran the cable through a hole I drilled to allow my Hughes satellite cables to enter the trailer. I then went to Radio Shack and bought the adapter cable to connect from the antenna cable to the Verizon phone. We bought the booster on line and I don't remember where. The antenna was in the in the 30 to 35 dollar region and the adapter was about 10 dollars and the booster was somewhere over 200 ish. I know that they do make a difference if your anywhere in a weak signal area. QUOTE(weighit @ Feb 7 2008, 08:29 PM) We have Verizon phones and bought the Wilson antenna. John & weighit: Appreciate your information, as to the Wilson antenna & booster for the cell phone. As we have a 96 year old parent, who lives by himself, daily contact is necessary. At times on the road, communication is not the best, and at times non-existant. Thank you for your response.
