We were in that area this past spring. We stayed just north of Homestead so we drove on 997 several times. We went south and picked up Hwy 1 on our way out to the Keys, and we drove north to Hwy 27 and took it to I-75. A lot of this was in the car so we may not have noticed rough roads as much. However, we did go over that entire route (from I-75 to 27 to 997 to 1) at least once (some sections twice) in the RV, and I do not recall any really bad parts. If I had to pick a section that was maybe a little worse than others, it would be on 997 south of the casino, so this may be the section you are referring to. The pavement there was uneven but there were no huge pot holes or anything like that--it was just sort of bumpy and rolly (if that's a word)--and we've been on much worse. We just took it a bit slow and did fine. Hope this helps.

    Thanks Texasrvers.
May be they did some patching.Last December some places were broke up and there were holes in some places. It has all ways been a little rolling but last December it was bad.Land of the walking road bed. The worst I have ever seen it and been going that way since the late 70s.
A friend of ours in the club said be busted a tire on his Fifth Wheeler and they did`t even come for China.

Well, I hope I'm not steering you wrong, but we just don't remember anything really bad.
