I need some help please. My father is new to camping, just bought his first RV last month. He saw battery powered lights that you lay down along the edge of your site to help guide you when backing into a site in the dark. I would love to get him some for Christmas, but I want to surprise him so I can't ask him for the catalog. Anybody out there know where I can purchase something like this?

I already tried before I posted here. They don't have anything like that. I even did a search on Google. I couldn't narrow down anything. That's why I posted on here, hoping someone would have them and could tell me exactly where to purchase them.

    Cheryl,

Would a set of rope lights work. He could plug it into the 20 am or 30 amp with cheaper and lay it out on the ground. I think I have seen this done but it was not an RV only but a 2 strands of rope lights......You could even getone a different color for the rear.

    John,
Thanks, but you don't know my dad. When he sets his mind on something no substitute will do. I managed to get the catalog they are supposed to be in from him today without raising his suspicions (I hope).

Well, unfortunaltely, they aren't in the catalog he gave me after all. But, I have called my stepmom. She is going to try to get the information out of him without letting him know it's for me. As soon as I find out anything, I will post it here.

They're called Pelican Mini-flashers. Buy them from Rocly Mountain Tool Company at 435/245-5021. They are the cheapest source.

Thanks, found their website and looked them up. My husband says they are not right. He says the ones my dad wants run off of either AA or AAA batteries. You lay them down on the edges of your campsite before you back in to guide you into your site.

Still not it. These lights do not need to be hooked up to anything. They run off of AA or AAA batteries. You lay them down on the ground along the parking edge of your campsite. From what my husband says (too bad he didn't pay attention to their name), they are kind of like runway lights for airplanes. They help you to back straight into your site. I do appreciate everyone who has tried to help.

My lights came yesterday. I'm not sure if they are exactly what he wanted, but I think they will do the job. They are very bright.

    Cheryl,

I have to ask... were the lights the ones your father wanted?

No, they weren't the ones he saw, but I think he likes them anyway.

Cheryl, if you still want to pursue this for your Dad, I suggest that you show him the ones called Pelican Mini-flashers (re my previous posting). When I first saw your posting weeks ago that he read about them in the magazine, your decription of the writeup immediately sounded like the same article that I had read. Check this website if you want further info: http://www.pelican-cases-flashlights.com/2...ini-Flasher.htm

I bought mine from Rocly Mountain Tool Company at 435/245-5021.
