I hope everybody has a great Christmas. I'll be two days out of surgery, so Santa will be coming a little late this year. I still love Christmas like I did as a child and also for the real meaning of Christmas.

Lindsay, I hope your surgery went well and you are recovering quickly. Take care of yourself and don't overdo. Put on a "poor pitiful" and "woe is me" act as long as you can pull it off at home.

My surgerey went better than I had expected. There is still a lot of bleeding, but I understand that this is normal. I have been sleeping a whole lot. Our daughter and son-in-law came up for present openings. I didn't show her the scars. I am usually able to handle pain pretty good, but this just about got me. My wife got me a Jaw Horse as seen on TV so I am excited to get going on my 10' by 16' shed. I'll just start work and take a break when I get too tired. Still planning on finishing the lower 48 starting on April 15th.

    Lindsay,

Happy to hear you are OK now. The people in Plant City did a good job on you. I was looking at your travel log and see we spend time in the same places down in LA. We tour LA a lot and love the Cajun food and music. Mulates in Breaux bridge, Prejean's in Latayette, DI's south of Basile, Budda Frey's at Mowata Store on Hwy 13 south of Eunice all are very good places to eat and dance to Cajun music. Abbeville also a nice place to see the 5000 egg cooking in fall. Plan to be back in March to tour some more places.

Get well soon, soon be time to eat the new strawberry's.

Even though I have lost over 50 hard fought pounds since we retired, we love to eat in little out of the way places. We always ask around and frequently eat our main meal out at lunch as it is cheaper and have a salad or something lite at night. A great trick we learned is to go into town around noon and look for the men wearing ties and suspenders (the lawyers) and follow to see where they eat. They usually get the best and economical places. Now I have these radioactive seeds in my prostrate, I am supposed to be weak for a while, but think I am doing really well. I am telling you, it really hurt the first day.
