Hi all, I much prefer my inverter to a generator. Please post details of your system? My inverter is: Cobra 2500/5000 watt surge modified sine wave. My generator is: 2800 watt Kipor electric start. My twelve volt system is based on 875 amp-hours of storage.
I prefer a generator to charge the batteries. Batteries are OK for intermittant power source, but charge rate to discharge rate is too inefficient. Inverters are too inefficient too. They are power pigs, the suck down the electrons to try give a few watts at 110V. I prefer to run 110V appliances off the genset. I have an Onan Marquis 5.5kW in the Bounder... I had a Marquis 7kW in the old Airstream
