My family and I want to camp in Oregan, and I saw pictures of Loon Lake, 18 miles from the ocean, also called the "banana belt" due to the warm, dry climate. I haven't found any reviews... anyone been there? katrina

Loon Lake is very nice indeed. Not many services up there so stock up on fuel and food before you get there. Technically the "Banana Belt" is just a bit further south of Loon Lake. The "Banana Belt" runs west to east between the Rogue River to the north and the Winchuck River to the south.

Some of the mildest wheather can be found near the Chetco River in Brookings, Oregon about two hours south of Loon Lake.

    Hope I helped.
