About the email to change our displayed name.

There needs to be a way to log on to the RV Park Reviews website and easily change your displayed name.

The problem here is, no one should click on a link provided in an unsolicited email to change personal information!!!!

I have been unable to find a way to log on to the RVParkReviews website and change my name. The only way I have been able to change my name is to use a link provided by the email, or to copy/type in the URL www.campgroundreviews.com/update_name.php.

If we feel the email is legitimate, we should go to the web site, log on and look for a way update the information needed.

There is a link in several different places here. There is also a post specifically about the change. I don't see how the email can really be called unsolicited since it comes from this site and is informational about the site. If they didn't send the email you might not have been able to do anything here the next time you wanted to.

However, in defense of those who have posted, many of us have learned to ignore emails that appear to come from sites we use and which seek personal information out of concern that they are spam engaged in phishing. In this case it is a legitimate email, but it doesn't hurt to be cautious.

I believe that if you log out of the site and log back in you will be taken to the Display Name page, but those who remain logged in may not see it.

By "unsolicited" I am meaning I did not ask RV Park Reviews to send me an email with a link to change my name.

How am I to know that the link in the email is really going to take me to the real RV Park Reviews? Or will it take me to a place which looks like RV Park Reviews but is really trying to get me to give them personal information.

The "safest" way I know of to provide any personal information to a web site is to use your normal way to access the website and then look for a way to change your profile or any other personal information.

In the case of RV Park Reviews I only access the website by using "www.campgroundreviews.com" note that there is nothing after the ".com".

It is possible that by using the link in the email I could be redirected or somehow routed to a bogus web site.

There is a "sticky" note on the forum that discusses the name update issue and provides the link. Anyone who wants to be assured that it is a legitimate email can get to the link from inside the site.
