My family is planning a RV trip to Florida. We have family in ST Petersburg so we would like something within a quick drive to St Pete.

We would like something on the beach, but at least a few blocks from the beach.

Two of my children are coming so they need to allow children.

We could park and stay at my uncles, but then we would have to rent a van to go to the beach, so we wanted to see if there is a way to skip that. It would be a Sunday night (Oct 27th) until Friday.

    Thank you for any help!

Ft. Desoto in Tierra Verde is probably your best choice for beaches and kids. Lots of people love this place. We go when the grandkids insist but have had some issues with low hanging trees, small sites and late night partiers. Get reservations early - they fill fast. Not much beachfront property in the St. Pete area. It was all sucked up during the housing boom and developed.
