Just read a review for this campground that said it wasn't near water. It is a huge place but right on the ocean!
I checked this huge park out when I was in Myrtle Beach this spring. Yes, the PARK is on the ocean, but some of the sites up on the Kings Highway side are close to 1/3 mi. from the beach. That's a long way to walk, dragging beach chairs and coolers, especially if you have physical problems or are dragging kids. That's what the reviewer might have been trying to say.
We were about half way to the beach when we were there. We used bikes, but golf carts are popular there because it is a tough walk to the beach with stuff. I would go early and set up our umbrella to save a spot. Especially when tide was up. Beach got small fast.
