We are planning a trip to Maine and would like to know more about Point Sebago? We have heard good and bad things about this place. Also has anyone ever camped at Papoose Pond also in Maine?

Hi, friend of ours camp at Papoose Pond as well as the famous Dale Arnold of WEEI radio. We have stopped for a visit. Nice wooded campground with great sites, lake no pool and great activities in season. I do not think you could go wrong here, we plan every year to go but something always happens and we miss out.

Point Sebago on the other hand, we have driven through to see it and did not like what we saw. First it has one of the nicest waterfronts that I have seen, lots of activity. No pool, small close sites everyone camps together or on top of each other, over 100 rental trailers on the better sites, not the type of camping that we like.

We've stayed at Papoose Pond many times and love it there. They do have difficulty getting enough seasonal staff some years so the restaurant may have limited hours but it's still one of our kids favorite places. We are usually tent campers but we rent one of the cabinettes when we go to Papoose. For RV people, the sites across the street are more private and wooded.
