Marvin and Rose Thomas thought they had escaped Hurricane Katrina's wrath with hardly a scratch. But a little more than a week after the Thomases weathered the storm in a camper at Quilla's RV Park on U.S. 49, the elderly residents said they thought they were the victims of price gouging. Although the park's owner says the increase was justified, a state agency is disagreeing and the matter is under investigation. The Thomases and other residents at the park said they were informed Sept. 9 that their monthly rent had been increased $165 a month to $380 a month. This was published in the Hattiesburg, Miss. American (Local Newspaper). We all need to keep this fine RV facility in mind when we are searching for a quality managed facility.
