Comming back from the worst trip weve been on we stopped at a Flying J near Batavia NY and found that they are charging now for a pump out. Ive seen that In Ontario this past summer too. Im curious if this is a trend which will include all their locations or a local thing. Has anyone noticed this too
All FJ locations with dump sites, I have read, will be charging $10 to dump. By using a FJ Gas Card you can get a $5.00 discount. This policy seems to be generating a lot of controversy on some other forums that I watch. Not sure why.

Sorry to read this. Flying J usually has the best fuel prices and the most room to maneuver your rig. Their service is lousy and the food is horrible. The free and convenient dump was a bonus that tipped stopping at FJ in their favor.
Flying J merged with (or bought out by) Pilot and many of their policies are changing. I have read about this on other RV forums. We have spent the night at several over the years and have used their dimp sites a few times. I don't think I would be paying $ 10. Using a PPA park is about the same or not too much more and a much better deal.
Coming out of a 1300 mile trip for the season and have found repeatedly all over that Flying J no longer has the lowest fuel price. Wal-Mart and independant truck stops on "red roads" are cheaper than Flying J's cash price.

Talking about parking at Flying J's, Pilot, Walmart or etc.... Is it courtnessly for us to go in and ask if it's alright to park in their lot for the night or just do it? I notice there are signe at some Walmart that does not allow any over night parking. Someone told me if you don't see a sign then it's ok... What do you think? Also do you park in these places so you do not have to paid at a campground? Just asking and learning!

Typically, superstores south of the Mason-Dixon and as far west as Oklahoma. Murphy Oil partners with WalMart for fuel products. You can find Murphy stations using this link. http://murphyusa.com/locator/

We always ask, buy something AND thank them. Sometimes when you're driving from point A to point B, there's just no pretty park nearby.

You can find Murphy stations using this link. http://murphyusa.com/locator/ I have found that when traveling the interstates, if you see "Murphy" on the fuel sign for the next exit, it's practically the same as saying there is a Walmart--the Murphy will be in the Walmart parking lot, usually just off the road.
If you buy with a Wal-Mart gift card, you can usually save 3 cents a gallon on gas at Wal-Mart/Murphy Oil. The 3 cents starts to add up when you are getting 75 gallons. Some of the Murphy oil stations are not easy in easy out if you are pulling a toad. We never assume we will be able to get in and out easily and like to get gas there before hooking up in the morning if we have overnighted at Wal-Mart.
