    Hi All
    Many already know me here. My wife and I are traveling to beautiful Florida in April May this year.
    A big part of the trip is a bucket list item for me, attending the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola Florida, driving into Pensacola for the purpose of this visit.

    I have only just found out that although the museum is now accessible if you are a foreign visitor you must attend with an American citizen to be allowed entry to the Museum as it is on a Military Base.

    I am a serving Law Enforcement officer with 36 years of service (6 to go to retirement yay:cool::p:D) and wondering if anyone knows if I am able to get a waiver for entry.

    I appreciate any guidance that can be provided from this amazing site;
    I have been to the following big 2;
    Smithsonian Air & Space
    Museum of Flight

    So many others across our trips including the Boeing Factory and many excellent smaller museums.
    NAA represents one of the 4 big ones for me that will only leave the United States Air Force Museum for what too many is the big 4 in the USA.

    Thanks in advance for any guidance

    Jason

    Jason,
    I just checked the Museums website. The museum is open to the public. All you need is valid identification - passport, driver license, police credentials.

    That's what I thought Ron until I found this section from plan your visit.....

    Non-U.S. Citizens:
    Non-U.S. Citizens are authorized to access but must be escorted by a U.S. citizen. The U.S. citizen will have a background check conducted upon arrival. Non-U.S. Citizen visitors who have not been processed through the Foreign Visits System Confirmation Module (FVSCM) must be in possession and present a permanent Resident Card, Alien Registration Receipt Card (Form 1-551), or a foreign passport that contains a temporary 1-551 stamp or a temporary 1-551 printed notification on a Machine-Readable Immigrant Visa (MRIV).

    What is your read on that?

    Wow, I missed that statement.... sounds like there is no way around that. Or is there...:eek:
    You are trying to visit this country legally and here is the rub... If you had crossed into this country at our southern border you would be able to go anywhere you wanted to go. Papers/documents not required:rolleyes:

    I know quite ironic that we are the only foreign country that can purchase Virginia class subs but can't attend a museum......Hopefully someone here can give some ideas.

    Cheers mate

    We found out the hard way when we pulled up to the MP’s at the Base entrance. You need a US citizen and the US citizen must be driving. We were denied entry. It too was on our bucket list. Still got to see the Blue Angels fly from Perdido Key RV resort.
    Good luck

    That museum is actually on Pensacola Naval Air Station so you will have to pass through the main gate checkpoint and will be required to show identification
