We live in South Louisiana and I am looking for a fun destination and nice RV park that is kid friendly. I have a four year old to entertain. We have six days for our trip to I figure things within about a 500 mile radius would be ok. I have considered calloway gardens, and hot springs but not sure how kid friendly that will be. Calloway gardens has a balloon festival the weekend that we are going that is supposed to have family friendly activies. If any one has any suggestions that would be appreciated. We have a 40 foot motorhome so big rig friendly is helpful. Thanks, Nicole
We our love Jellystone Parks in the Northeast. They are all over the USA. They have tons of activities for the kids and theme weekends. My kids are 6 & 3 and love it there. Jellystone at ind beach was fun free ride to park lots to do their campground was very clean and the nicest people I met yet.
Don't stay at the Jellystone in Canon City, Colorado near the Royal Gorge. They don't keep their word on giving AAA or Good Sam discounts and charge you a higher rate when you get there. They have not repaired their amenities and don't live up to what they represent on their website. The employees told us that the ownership was due to change within the month so this could be part of the problem. This was our first stay at a Jellystone Park and it was not a good first impression of what Jellystone parks are supposed be.
i know this place is a lot farther than 500 miles, but one day you might be in the area. frontier town in ocean city maryland. it has a wild west show, kiddie pool, lazy river, water slides and a fishing and crabbing pier. they also have people doing crafts and showing movies and entertainment a night. like i said, if your in the area, i don't think you or your children will be disappointed.
Hello, we have a 3 year old son and 17 month old daughter..we really like south carolina..we camped at pirateland in myrtle beach for 5 days and it was awesome.also, there are so many fun things to do near by for kids..its endless, family amusement parks, no entry fee just pay for rides ($35 for several hours of fun). also, there are 3-4 rv parks in a row..oceanlakes camping resort looks awesome too. We just returned from Callaway Gardens last week. We stayed at the Pine Mountain RV Resort about 5 minutes away. This is an awesome campground. The showers had "family washrooms" so you just locked the door and had a huge shower with private toilet. The shower was something you would find at a spa - slate tile and everything. Very clean washer and dryer area. All sites are full hookup with cable and are concrete pull through. The pool is small but is salt water and has a splash playground area for the little ones. There is even a hot tub. The paved campground was perfect for bike riding. My kids did like the Wii playroom but you need to bring your own games. We found the management there incredible. Escort to your site, brings you ice ($1.25), firewood ($5), daily trash pick up, and they were always asking if they could help. The only downside is the lack of tree cover in the new site area. If you prefer more tree cover opt for the older sites with gravel pads. As for Callaway Gardens, it is also a great place to go. Be prepared to bring your bikes or to do some hiking on the manicured trails. My kids (6 and 8) loved the butterfly exhibit and the birds of prey shows. I have also been told the circus is really good.
Get some fishing rods, then every where you go will be kid friendly. Been doing that with my three since before any of them could walk, and they always look forward to each trip.
