:unsure: Try "Red Coconut" at Ft. Myers beach in S.W. Florida. It is on the beach, but the sites are jammed against each other. This does not seem to bother those that regard being on the beach as the important matter.
There's a beautiful state park in St. Augustine - wonderful sites, well separated from each other. Don't know about the beaches after the hurricanes, though.
Try Camping on the Gulf in Destin. Very nice cg, and it is as close to the beach as you can get. Some of the sites are kinda tight, but the beach is right there. Topsail Hill in Santa Rosa Beach is excellent. It has a walkway to beach that is about 1/2 mile, but the sites are beautiful.
The most wonderful place we have been- and listed as the most popular florida state park- is St Andrews State park in Panama City Bch area- the campgroud ins facing the inlet from the beach and the dolphin watching, boat watching, fishing and even walk or ride bikes to beach is beautiful!! highly recommend
One we have stayed in is south of Sarasota near Siesta key. The name is Gulf Beach Campground. It is privite and right on the beach. Like others noted, sites are close together. Services and access to restaurants, the beach, shopping, Siesta Key, etc is very good and close. If the beach and access to the big city is important, this is a good choice.
The very best is Fort DeSoto Park in St Petersburg. The campground is tucked away in a forested area. Very spacious sites. Secluded and natural. The park has two great fishing piers, a fantastic untouched beach with white sand and nice shells, and miles of paved bicycle paths winding around and along the water. Reservations there are available on the Internet for the first time and can be made 90 days in advance. The Beverly Beach Campground Resort is right on the beach--nothing between your front (or back) and the ocean. Completely open with fantastic views. But they fill up early so be sure to book early. Excellent restaurants nearby and within a relatively short drive to Daytona, St. Augustine, and Orlando. It is located in a small town named Beverly Beach but is really in Flagler Beach.

We stayed there in May of 2003. It is close to the historic area of St Augustine as well as close to the beach. The sites are nice, and we had a racoon that wandered through our site every evening. On that same trip we also stayed at St Andrews State Park in Panama City Beach. The sites have a lot of vegetation between them, so you have a lot of privacy. We found that the electric and water connections were so far apart that it is a good idea to have an extra-long water hose or an extension cord for the electricity, or both. We have been favorably impressed with the Florida State parks we have camped in.
