I already query this forum to evaluate campsites in Florida and before any comment was received I learned that the place at issue were not worth to be considered or too expensive for being taken in consideration.
OK, let me explain ma problem, I am a Canadian that’s use to spend the winter months is Florida in Homosassa and then in Crystal Rivera; the Homosassa campsite had access to the Golf of Mexico but the sites could be compared to parking garage, in certain lots you could not extend the owning because it was invading the property of the neighbour.
The place is Crystal River was nice and efficient until last year when, most likely because of the recession and because they became short of cash, the club house in need to be rebuilt because not more accessible was not done, the swimming pool and/or Jacuzzi that several times were not operational or the water was not heated or the pump was not functioning or….. use your imagination for it and it did happen, therefore, I decided to look for a new place with access to the Golf or access to the canal that access the Golf of Mexico. My reason for specify last to points is that I have a boat 16’ for fishing and I need an access to the water for fishing.
I have been visiting several campsites that proclaims the above feature, however, 1 was at 11 miles from the Golf, the other one, yes it was closed to the Golf but you had to pass through 4 lanes highways etc.. etc.. etc…
What I would appreciate from you is the name and contact of comps with these facilities and that does not charge $ 1,200 a month for a 4 months winter period.
Yes, I know that’s difficult but if any of you can provide this information, I will bless you for the rest of my life.

    Hi,

Does the park have to have access to the river or canal system? Or are you willing to drive?

If you are willing to drive, have a gander at this location.

They require six months for a "seasonal" lot--but the rate is way below the 1200.00 figure.

We have stayed at Rock Crusher Canyon many times and found it to be great. About 10 to 15 minutes to the gulf, the club house, weight room, and pool are great. WiFi is free. All in all it is a great place. I saw that they have been bought out by a major developer and they are trying to sell lots. I do not know how this part is going and on our last trip there (It’s about an hour and half from where we live.), but if I were you, I’d check it out.
