We have camped for years in California, Oregon, and Colorado in a tent trailer. I am taking a 60 day leave of absence on July 4 to drive to Alaska in our new travel trailer. I bought the Milepost and doing tons of research and reading blogs but I am just getting more and more confused. Especially with regards to advance reservations; we would like to be very flexible and just go where we like but it seems like popular places you really need advance reservations. It seems like Denali National Park might be more trouble than it;'s worth especially since my husband smokes and getting on one of the buses for several hours won't work for him. I have been to Alaska on cruises 7 times and once on a tour to Anchorage and Denali. We love Canada so thinking about spending time in Jasper/Calgary/Banff - could really use some sound advice.
