I am about to buy a new tow vehicle and I will have to swap my brake controller, is this something I can do myself or should I take it to my RV dealer? I saw it being changed on a T.V. show and it seemed pretty simple, any input would be appreciated.

I believe both the new Ford and Dodge trucks have the brake controller harness connecter installed just above the steering column under the dash (if the vehicle has the "tow option" package.) This makes for an easy install of the controller. I can't comment on the GM products, ...maybe someone else can chime in on this subject.

It should be an easy "do it yourself" project.

I have a ford and mine was very easy to install. The wiring harness came with my tow package.
