I keep looking back at this post, looking at the dog. I even showed it to family. I'm just concerned about the barking. I wonder if there is a sheltie mix that would be less likely to bark.

When making comparsions to other breeds I've seen, especially when noticing other dogs at campgrounds. I thought our past sheltie was quiet. I am optimistic that our 11 week old will do just as well. and if not we will probably have to board her on some of our trips.

Update: crate training is going great, (she is very quiet in her crate) house training, still having a few accidents but getting better.

    We named her Gracie

Well DW decided we needed another sheltie, I've had misgivings on taking on another camping dog but in the end I'm sure all will work out. Our past 2 shelties were litter runts both under 20 LBS this one should top out at 30 or maybe more. Were still working on naming him so maybe I'll post back with his new name and maybe an updated pic

Hey Mike, congratulations on the new addition to the family. After we had to put our last dog down we decided not to have another pet. Here is an idea why not take a poll here and see what our members come up with? Just a thought.

Happy for you Mike. You are definitely going to have fun traveling with Gracie and that other little guy with no name as yet. No doubt they will keep you on your toes and provide you with many hours of enjoyment No doubt also that they will both do their very best to get into as much mischief as they can. They both have that "look" in their eyes. Some great times in store for all lie ahead. Congrats!!!

I kind of wanted to name the dog George as his big sister is named Gracie, DW doesn't like the name George and has come back with Gavin?

other front runners are: Spencer, Bailey, Tucker, Cooper

Hey Mike, in that it would be neat to have both their names begin with "G" allow me to toss a few more into the mix. How about Gunner, Gage, Gabe or perhaps even Garth? Will be interesting to see what you do end up naming him....................

    Meet Gavin

This is our first male sheltie, I was trying to be more careful as to match up the 2 dogs. Our dog Gracie is alpha where as Gavin is not, plus I have been told female and male dogs have a better chance on getting along together. Do I have a crystal ball on all of this? heck no! LOL :p Going to have to roll with the punches.

    Happy travels ahead Mike, Terry
