My second issue with the new system concerns the questions/choices after the actual reviews. Immediately following the review there is a question asking whether or not this review was helpful. My question is: If I say "No", were does this "no vote" register so that others (including the reviewer) will know someone said that the review was not helpful? Also, is there a running tally of the "yes" and "no" votes that a viewer can see on the site. If not, what purpose does the voting serve? Then there is the box about "Concerns". There is absolutely no explanation as to what this is. I filled one out after reading a recent review of the Red Shoes RV Park at Coushatta Casino in Kinder, LA. I noted that the "Tips" addendum completed by the reviewer was not relevant because it was about a town (Marksville, LA) 100 miles away. The "Tip" was identical to the one the reviews added to his review of Paragon Casino in Marksville. :

On the "Home" page, under the heading of "Recent Oregon Campground Reviews" the ratings scale is 0-5 instead of 0-10. I checked a couple other states and the same is true

It's now possible to sort reviews for a specific property in some new ways including by "most useful" or "not useful" and so when you click to 'vote" you are contributing to this particular parameter.

When you report a 'concern" review admins are notified of a possible problem with a review. These might include spam, inaccurate info or something else. In the past you had to post on the forum that there was a problem or send an e-mail and this new function helps us organize this list into a 'trouble ticket" list as well as track patterns of problems.that we might need to correct in the system. Thanks for submitting these issues - they are a good help.

Thank you for reporting this. The problem seems to be that the "Recent Oregon Reviews" has the numerical listing wrong. In other words, if a park got a 10 rating, 5 stars are displayed which would be consistent with a star representing 2 points as it is in other parts of the website, but the number listed is 5 which is wrong. This does need to be fixed.

    Janet H.,

I am still not certain about the way the "Helpful - Yes or No vote" is useful. If I vote No and then sort by Not Helpful, the review I vote "{No" on shows up first followed by a statement saying "you did not find this review helpful". Does that show up whenever anyone checks out that review or just when I view it on my computer? If my "No" vote is viewable by others and others also vote "No", will the number of "No" votes be show after the review. If I'm the only one who can see that there was a "No" (or "Yes") vote and/or there isn't a vote tally, what is the point?

Why is there no explanation of this "Yes/No" question or the "Report Concerns" box on the website? In the near future, I am going to have this same question about several other items in the new site.

To better assist you, can you give us a better idea of what kinds of problems you are encountering?

When selecting a state, I get one line from AL down to KS. By switching off landscape mode, I fixed that problem.

It's my understanding that lower resolution tablets and phones won't show the home page map. I know my phone won't and my Nexus and iPad don't unless they are in landscape mode. The smaller screens just can't display all that data.

I'm not sure what you mean by "my state map"? Was this something in your signature?

Yes, there is a state map of the 48 states I have camped in. It is on the left side of my post, I looked around in settings and could not see how to change it. It was a carryover from the old site.

At the upper right corner of the RVPR home page is your username. Use the dropdown to select Edit Profile. Your profile will be displayed with your avatar in the upper left corner. Click on Edit and you will be able to delete it. Once you have done that you can upload a resized one. My guess is that the resolution of your current jpg is too low which is why the map appears grainy.

I don't know that answer for sure but the dumb picture I'm using (to my left) is 1222x752 and is 77kB of data. The resolution is working fine but the picture is being cropped to roughly square.

Avatars display at about 100 x 100 pixels but you could load a somewhat larger image and the software will reduce the size. If you click on docjs pic, you will see what a large image looks like, mine is 100 x 100 pixels. In both cases the software adjusts to fix the available space. in the case of your current map, I think it's much smaller that 100 x 100 and so it's being enlarged and thus blurry.
