Tips from campers about Timberland Acres RV Park
- Dave Walczak The park is easy to access, being off of ME Route 3. If you turn left onto Route 3, you'll head to the Ellsworth area, where you'll find restaurants, shopping, Wal-Mart, Renys, Hannaford's Grocery, and Shaw's Grocery. Also on Route 3 on the left as you head into Ellsworth, is Blueberry Hill Dairy Bar. They have excellent homemade ice cream. We suggest you try the Maine wild blueberry ice cream. It is wonderful! Directly across from Blueberry Hill Dairy Bar is a Freshies gas station. The store is modern, clean, and has good assortment of drinks, eats, and treats. They have 2 diesel pumps that are easy to pull into and then exit. We normally stop for fuel here as we leave the area. If you turn to the right onto Route 3, that will take you to the Bar Harbor area and Acadia National Park. Some might think it's too far to travel, but it's only about 18 miles. It's a beautiful drive. Granted, if you are heading back to the RV Park around 4 PM or so, you will have some traffic, but it's not a big delay.4 years ago Timberland Acres RV Park

- Shroyers Bar Harbor is a great place. Walk the Shore Trail. Take the Lulu Lobster Boat Tour. We had great meals at The Bar Harbor Inn (we at on the patio by the water) and at Getty's. Close to Walmart (Ellsworth about 4 miles), Acadia NP and Bar Harbor (about 25 miles). Be aware that Acadia is HUGE and takes quite a bit of time to explore...

Food suggestions: Breakfast: blue berry pancakes at Jordans Restaurant (Bar Harbor) or Riverside Cafe in downtown Ellsworth Lobster and Lobster Rolls: Travelin Lobster Dinner: Pats Pizza or Helens, both in Ellsworth DO NOT MISS Momos Cheesecakes!! Open 24/7 (payment on the honor system) We did eat at Governors for dinner one evening would not recommend....
