Tips from campers about Frankfort, KY
- rvlife_655d5415aaace The park is close to Frankfort, KY, the state capitol and not far from Lexington, KY too. We visited both cities as well as The ArK Encounter in nearby Williamstown, KY. Its an impressive sight, to be sure.5 days ago Elkhorn Creek RV Park
- Jill & Ken W Did the Buffalo Trace tour. Plan ahead and reserve and sign up for the wait list as we cleared it easily. But it was a down time between Xmas and NYE. Other sites to see include capitol and Daniel Boone gravesite. Had a great lunch at Goodwood Brewery downtown. Be careful driving right into town as there is an old low bridge. Plenty of streets to avoid it. There are other bourbon places to do, we just wanted to do BT. So one could spend a couple days here.2 months ago Elkhorn Creek RV Park
- Nick86 Buffalo Trace is nearby (10 minutes). Be sure to book your tours three months out. We waited until 6 weeks out and there were zero tours available on the weekend. Even if you can't book a tour, you can visit and see if they have any last minute availability. Wild Turkey is about 30 minutes out and Four Roses is only a couple miles past that. Four Roses was our favorite tour on the Bourbon Trail (out of 20 we have visited). Buffalo Trace was a strong second.4 months ago Elkhorn Creek RV Park
